Figma's product blog keeps adding AI-assisted tools, but plenty of teams — especially smaller or open-source-curious ones — aren't using them fully yet.

Figma keeps expanding what its AI features can do inside the design workflow, based on ongoing product blog coverage. That's worth knowing, but don't assume everyone on your future team is using them the same way. Some studios lean in hard; others (often the ones also poking at Penpot) are more cautious about locking their process to one vendor's AI layer. As a junior designer with both tools in your stack, that dual literacy is actually a decent position to be in — you can speak to trade-offs rather than just brand loyalty.
