Figma Make translates a Figma file into a working prototype using Claude, rather than just static screens. It's shipped and iterating, but it's an assist, not autopilot.
Figma's AI-to-code tool, Figma Make, turns design files into functional prototypes instead of static mockups. It launched off the back of Figma's Config event and keeps expanding — a real signal that design-to-dev handoff is getting faster, not that designers are becoming redundant.
**Why adoption, not hype**: it's shipped, it's being used in real workflows, and it keeps iterating publicly — but independent testing has repeatedly found AI design tools still need heavy human steering. Don't expect a perfect first output.
If you're on Penpot rather than Figma, you won't have this yet — Penpot's roadmap leans on open-source plugins instead, so the code-handoff gap there is still mostly manual for now.
